Report: Velveteen Dream Backstage At WWE RAW

Dream hasn’t been on TV since December 2020

Reports have emerged that controversial NXT star Velveteen Dream was spotted backstage at last night’s edition of WWE RAW.

The reports come via Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, who added the caveat that he didn’t know if Dream was there for the show.

Velveteen Dream hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since December 2020, losing to Adam Cole on the December 23 edition of NXT. Once pushed heavily as one of the stars of the Black and Gold brand, Dream faced numerous allegations during the Speaking Out movement. WWE concluded after an investigation that they ‘didn’t find anything’, but still Dream’s prominence on NXT diminished.

Like Meltzer said, Dream being backstage at RAW didn’t mean he was necessarily there for the show, and there are myriad reasons why a contracted WWE star can be backstage at a TV taping. But with Karrion Kross and Scarlett appearing on RAW to cross promote this week’s NXT, could this be an indicator of more cross brand promotion between the two shows?
