Report: MJF, Tony Khan Scheduled For Sit-Down Meeting Following AEW Double Or Nothing

A meeting between Tony Khan and MJF

Issues between MJF and All Elite Wrestling came to a head over the weekend as Friedman did not show up for the Double Or Nothing Fan Fest on Saturday before a flight was booked for him out of Las Vegas, a flight he did not end up taking. MJF then worked Sunday's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view and was promptly defeated by Wardlow before The Salt Of The Earth was wheeled away from ringside on a stretcher.

In an update, neither Tony Khan nor MJF have flown home from Las Vegas and they were scheduled for a sit-down meeting at 8 pm ET/4 pm PT on Monday, according to Fightful Select. There is no word on what was discussed at the meeting or if the sit-down even took place. Fightful also noted they could not confirm if the sit-down meeting was a work or real.

MJF's frustrations over the past couple of months have ultimately stemmed from his AEW contract and its pay scale. Tony Khan has noted his willingness to discuss an extension with Friedman and pay him like a top star but the three-time Dynamite Diamond Ring winner has remained frustrated and he blew off overtures from AEW about opening negotiations over a new contract in recent weeks.

While his future behind the scenes remains uncertain, there is more certainty on Friedman's on-screen status in AEW and he is expected to miss at least the next several TV tapings following his match at Double Or Nothing.
