Report: Multiple WWE WrestleMania 37 Match Finishes Were Changed Over The Weekend

The show could have been so very different

WrestleMania 37 is now in the history books and WWE provided fans with two nights of mostly very good in-ring action, during which the likes of Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair stood tall.

Some of the finishes at The Showcase Of The Immortals were originally scheduled to be different, though. According to the Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer, four match finishes were changed over the weekend. Reports have already noted one of these matches was Randy Orton vs. The Fiend and Meltzer said the finish was altered just hours before night two went on the air.

Which other bouts were changed was not revealed, but WrestlingNews.co has reported the finish to the Universal Title match was amended. Officials within WWE reportedly pushed for Edge to win the Universal Title by pinning Daniel Bryan. This would have set up a singles match between Roman Reigns and The Rated-R Superstar either at the next pay-per-view or during the summer, but WWE opted to have Reigns pin both of his opponents at 'Mania instead.
