Report: NJPW In Talks With Pluto TV

NJPW content could be added to the free app

According to Wrestling Inc., New Japan Pro-Wrestling recently held talks with Pluto TV about airing content on the platform.

Pluto TV is a free live-stream television and on-demand app on Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and other devices.

Other professional wrestling content is already available on Pluto TV in the United States, including shows from MLW and IMPACT Wrestling. IWTV also recently announced some of their content will be available on Pluto's Pro Wrestling Channel.

If both sides reach a deal, it would provide a way for New Japan's fans to watch the promotion's content without having to subscribe to NJPW World.

New Japan announced during Wrestle Kingdom 15 that NJPW content would be arriving on TV in the United Kingdom and the United States soon. No further information on the TV deals has been officially revealed since January 4, though.

The promotion previously aired content on AXS TV in the United States from 2014 until December 2019. Both sides agreed to end their partnership early, though, and New Japan has been without a TV deal in the US ever since.
