Report: NJPW Struggling To Sell Tickets For Autumn Attack Tapings

Poor ticket sales for NJPW

The first NJPW Strong tapings outside of California will take place this weekend on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas.

The shows billed as 'Autumn Attack' will feature the likes of Minoru Suzuki, Will Ospreay, Lance Archer, Jay White and Taiji Ishimori, but those matches may well take place in front of only a few hundred people.

As of September 22, only 458 tickets had been sold for the September 25 tapings, while 443 tickets had been distributed for the September 26 show, according to WrestleTix. Both shows have an estimated capacity of 1,648, meaning the two events will run at between 27 and 28 percent capacity unless more tickets are sold.

In comparison, All Elite Wrestling drew 5,688 fans for the July 21 edition of Dynamite at the same venue.

The cards for the Autumn Attack shows are as follows:

September 25:

  • Minoru Suzuki vs. Fred Rosser
  • Robbie Eagles vs. Jay White
  • Will Ospreay vs. Karl Fredericks
  • Tom Lawlor vs. Ren Narita
  • Juice Robinson, Lio Rush, TJP & Clark Connors vs. El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori, Chris Bey & Hikuleo
  • The Mega Coaches vs. West Coast Wrecking Crew
