Report: No Heat On FTR For Expressing Support For CM Punk On AEW Collision

FTR not receiving heat for public support for CM Punk on AEW Collision

With CM Punk’s recent firing by All Elite Wrestling, it was inevitable that those close to him within the organisation would be wanting to support their friend, with FTR publicly supporting the former AEW World Champion on the September 2 edition of AEW Collision.

During their entrance for Dax Harwood’s singles bout against Jay White, Cash Wheeler crossed his arms to form an ‘X’, a taunt intrinsically linked with Punk. Despite Punk’s acrimonious exit from AEW, a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that there is no heat on FTR for their gesture, as people within AEW understood their position.

The report alleges that ‘at least three others’ in AEW were very upset by Punk’s firing and the situation surrounding it, with Meltzer alleging that the likes of Brody King could be one such name, with King close to Punk, with reports suggesting the House of Black member broke his hand by punching something backstage in frustration during All In due to Punk and Jack Perry’s backstage altercation.

Other reports, meanwhile, have stated that King kicked a bin in frustration and he later broke his hand during the AEW World Trios Title match at All In.
