Report: Oba Femi Expected To Be Brock Lesnar's WWE WrestleMania 42 Opponent

Brock Lesnar's WWE WrestleMania 42 plans have seemingly been revealed.

According to PWInsider, the consensus within WWE is that Oba Femi is expected to be Brock Lesnar's opponent at WrestleMania 42 and the former NXT Champion will answer Brock's open challenge during WWE's biggest weekend of the year.

There had been some fans who wondered if Gunther would be the wrestler to answer Brock Lesnar's open challenge at WrestleMania 42 but PWInsider has noted no one they have spoken to believes Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar could be the direction for the Showcase of the Immortals. The general belief is that Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar is the current plan for WrestleMania.

A future singles match between Lesnar and Oba Femi was set up in the Royal Rumble when they came to blows during the men's Royal Rumble match, with Lesnar ultimately eliminating Oba. Fans then chanted for Oba Femi after Brock Lesnar announced he would be hosting an open challenge at WrestleMania, with reports noting soon after that WWE were "well aware" of fan interest in seeing Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar.

Should WWE go ahead with the match, it would be another change from WWE's original plans, as the originally scheduled match for WrestleMania 42 was Brock Lesnar vs. LA Knight.

WWE WrestleMania 42 will emanate from Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. Headline matches already announced for the show include CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Title, Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan for the Women's World Title, and Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women's Championship.
