Report: Peacock Planning Upgrades To The WWE Network

There were issues reported with Peacock during WWE Fastlane 2021

NBCUniversal is reportedly already looking into making changes to the functionality of the WWE Network on their Peacock streaming service.

A number of United States-based WWE fans noted issues with the streaming service during WWE Fastlane on Sunday after the process began to migrate WWE Network content onto the platform.

A number of features that were available on the WWE Network, such as match markers, virtual scrubbing of video timelines and the ability to rewind, fast-forward or start live programming from the beginning, are currently not available on Peacock, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Peacock is looking to get those functions added.

The hope, according to sources who work at Peacock who have spoken to Meltzer, is that the live pause, restart controls and scrub bar previews are in place in time for SummerSlam this year.

Peacock is also hopeful of adding entity-based discovery and search by name by September.

The WWE Network, as a separate entity, will cease to exist on April 5, 2021, meaning that WWE WrestleMania 37 will only be viewable on Peacock in the United States.
