The latest chapter in the CM Punk-Elite saga was written on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite from Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

Punk was not on the show due to his AEW suspension and injury but The Elite were in action as they faced Death Triangle in the second match of their Best of Seven series. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks proceeded to mock CM Punk and Ace Steel during the match, with Omega first doing a Go To Sleep pose before he connected with a GTS to PAC. The Young Bucks then botched a Buckshot Lariat, referencing Punk's failure to hit a Buckshot at Double or Nothing in his match with Hangman Page. Omega bit PAC too, poking fun at Ace Steel, who allegedly bit The Best Bout Machine during the brawl at All Out.

There was speculation following the match that CM Punk and The Elite had made peace but that doesn't appear to be the case, with Dave Meltzer reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that people close to Punk were not happy about Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks' antics.

"Man, I know there's people close to CM Punk, boy were they not happy with that six-man tag match," Meltzer said.

Issues between CM Punk and The Elite came to a head at All Out when they had a fight after the pay-per-view that also included Ace Steel. The AEW producer has since been fired, while Punk is reportedly in talks with AEW over a contract buyout. The Elite were suspended but returned at Full Gear.
