After they returned to WWE TV in November 2019, AOP were featured prominently alongside Seth Rollins' new Monday Night Messiah gimmick. The tag team competed in a multitude of multi-man matches against Kevin Owens and his allies, but they have been off TV since Rezar tore his right biceps on the March 9 episode of Raw. At the time, WWE decided not to use Akam during his tag team partner's absence.

Rezar was expected to be out of action for six months and Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the company is currently planning for the former NXT Tag Team Champions to return any time between late September and the end of the year. Meltzer also noted the plan right now is for AOP to go it alone in the tag team division without reuniting with Seth Rollins.

Whether or not Akam and Rezar will reunite with Paul Ellering upon their return is unclear, however. Ellering recently said the company planned to bring him back in his old role earlier this year but the idea was scrapped because of the coronavirus pandemic.
