Report: WWE NXT UK Resumed TV Tapings This Week

Ahead of it's return on September 17...

During NXT TakeOver: XXX, WWE announced NXT UK would be returning on September 17. The brand has been inactive since April 2 because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Tapings were scheduled to resume from BT Sport Studios in London, England in the near future and Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter WWE started taping new content earlier this week. The company reportedly filmed eight weeks of programming and BT Sport Studios has very much become a base of operations for the UK brand as Superstars have also been training at the venue.

When NXT UK does return on September 17, the show will look noticeably different following the #SpeakingOut movement. Multiple Superstars were accused of sexual misconduct and the company later released Travis Banks and Ligero. Referees Joel Allen and Chris Roberts were also fired, while former main eventer Joe Coffey is currently suspended.

Many of the upcoming shows will seemingly centre around NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin. The status of the show is still up in the air, however, as the Irish Government recently introduced new coronavirus related restrictions.
