Report: Potential WWE Prospect Backstage At AEW Rampage

Could AEW be after another indy talent?

Could AEW be set to steal a top indy talent from WWE?

According to Fightful Select, KC Navarro was backstage visiting at the November 18 edition of Rampage in Newark, New Jersey. If Navarro had talks with AEW management or if he was just visiting friends is unknown.

Navarro popping up backstage comes amidst WWE interest in the indy standout and the 23-year-old is set to receive a private tryout soon.

WWE had largely abandoned scouting the independents but that has changed since Triple H became Chief Content Officer in July, with Gabe Sapolsky having been spotted at multiple indy shows over the past couple of months. WWE also recently held a private tryout at the Performance Center for former NJPW talent Karl Fredericks.

During his career, Navarro has wrestled on the indies for the likes of Warrior Wrestling, House of Glory, and DEFY. He has also made appearances in MLW and he challenged for the IMPACT X-Division Championship in September at a Wrestling REVOLVER event. Navarro has competed for AEW before too, working as an enhancement talent in 2020 and 2021.
