Report: Powerhouse Hobbs Set For AEW Push

What next for Powerhouse Hobbs?

It was likely evident following Sunday's All Out pay-per-view but All Elite Wrestling have big plans for Powerhouse Hobbs.

Ahead of Sunday's show, Fightful Select reported that Hobbs is "in line for a push" and while they did not know if that would affect the booking for All Out, Powerhouse looked dominant against former tag team partner Ricky Starks and he pinned 'Absolute' after only five minutes following his Spinebuster finisher.

If Hobbs' feud with Starks will continue in the coming weeks remains to be seen but Powerhouse was third in the male singles rankings as of August 31 which suggests he could soon challenge for Wardlow's TNT Title or the AEW World Championship, whether that be against CM Punk or Casino Ladder Match winner MJF.

Hobbs initially performed in AEW as an enhancement talent on Dark in 2020 but he was soon signed and became a featured talent on TV as a member of Team Taz with Taz, HOOK, and the aforementioned Ricky Starks. The faction crumbled after Hobbs turned on Ricky in late July, though.
