An update has emerged on the backstage altercation between CM Punk and The Young Bucks following the AEW World Champion's comments at the All Out media scrum.
Punk did not hold back during his post-All Out press conference, going on a rant about Colt Cabana before he accused the AEW EVPs of spreading lies, and called Hangman Page a "dumb f*ck" who went into business for himself. It was noted that The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega were "extremely p*ssed off" about Punk's comments to the point that one talent said they threatened to walk over the situation and Punk has major heat behind the scenes.
It has emerged that an altercation took place between Punk and The Young Bucks after the media scrum and while the nature of the altercation was not previously known, Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN has now reported that the AEW World Champion did throw punches at at least one of The Young Bucks. Several then intervened to separate the talents.
"Sources: There was an altercation between CM Punk and The Young Bucks early Monday. The Bucks confronted Punk about his comments at the scrum. It did get physical with Punk throwing punches at least one member of The Bucks. A number intervened to separate everyone. More 2 come," Muehlhausen tweeted.
If CM Punk will be punished for his actions remains to be seen, although Eddie Kingston was recently suspended after he took a swing at Sammy Guevara during another recent backstage altercation.
Issues within AEW have been ongoing for several months with hostilities having been caused by AEW's plans to not renew Colt Cabana's contract, something that was perceived to be because of 'Boom Boom' and Punk's issues.
