Report: Reason Andrade El Idolo Has Been Absent From AEW TV

Andrade El Idolo has been conspicuous by his absence from AEW TV

It’s been nearly six months since Andrade El Idolo last wrestled in an All Elite Wrestling ring, with an air of uncertainty lingering over Andrade’s prolonged absence from the company.

Rumours circulated in 2022 extolling of Andrade’s unhappiness in the company amidst speculation that he could have been angling for a return to WWE. However, a new report from Fightful Select suggests that the former NXT Champion’s extended absence from the ring is due to suffering a torn pectoral muscle late in 2022.

Andrade is believed to have undergone surgery on the injury in late November, and is not expected back in action until the Spring. Andrade was meant to wrestle at an indie event in November, but at the time simply said he had an ‘issue’ to deal with whilst giving his apologies.

El Idolo signed with AEW in June 2021 after being granted his release from WWE in March of that year. El Idolo made headlines in 2022 for his part in a backstage scuffle with Sammy Guevara in AEW amidst uncertainty over his future in the company.
