Report: Referee To Possibly Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

More on WWE's plans for the 2023 Hall of Fame

An unlikely figure could be set for a WWE Hall of Fame induction as part of the 2023 class.

According to PWInsider, the fifth and final inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame this year will likely be a referee who is "someone the entire industry loved." A referee has never been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame before.

It was not revealed who the referee would be, but the likes of Earl Hebner, Mike Chioda, and Charles Robinson were/are popular WWE referees. Earl's twin brother Dave Hebner sadly passed away in June 2022 so he could also be in line for a Hall of Fame induction.

Already officially announced for the WWE Hall of Fame is Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, and Andy Kaufman. Konnan is in line to induct Mysterio, while Ric Flair will induct The Great Muta into the Hall of Fame. Due to their close association in pro wrestling, it has been speculated that Jerry Lawler will induct Andy Kaufman, although Lawler has dealt with serious health issues in recent months.

Stacy Keibler has also been rumoured for a WWE Hall of Fame induction, with speculation suggesting Mick Foley will induct her.

The 2023 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Friday, March 31 following that night's episode of SmackDown.
