Report: Released WWE Talent Technically Still Under Contract

Despite not wrestling for over two years

Despite being released by WWE on June 25, 2021, Tyler Breeze is still receiving a paycheque from the company.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Breeze is still technically under contract. His deal is specifically attached to the UpUpDownDown brand.

The report added that it was not clear whether his contract has any wrestling provisions or restrictions associated with it, though a WWE source did say that it prevented him from appearing on AEW programming.

Breeze is set to return to the ring for the first time in over two years at a Prestige Wrestling show on September 1.

People Fightful spoke to noted that the 35-year-old is preparing himself for life after the business by investing wisely in real estate and running the Flatbacks training school.

Breeze has previously spoken about how he expected to be released by WWE at any moment, which helped prepare him for the day it actually came.

Shawn Spears (who co-runs the Flatbacks school with Breeze) previously claimed that the former NXT Tag Team Champion had told him he was retired.
