Report: Renee Paquette Turned Down WWE Return

Renee Paquette is going somewhere else, though

WWE tried to bring back a popular former member of the broadcast team.

Writing for Sports Illustrated, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE approached Renee Paquette about a return to the company while they were conducting a broadcast team shakeup last week. Paquette ultimately turned down the chance to go back to WWE, though.

Instead, Paquette is reportedly set to sign with All Elite Wrestling and she could debut as soon as this week's episode of Dynamite that will emanate from Renee's hometown of Toronto, Canada. Paquette's husband Jon Moxley is committed to AEW, having signed a new five-year deal with the promotion.

Paquette previously worked in WWE for several years from 2012 until the summer of 2020. She had a number of different roles in the promotion from being a backstage interviewer to commentating on Monday Night Raw. She was also briefly the host of FOX's WWE Backstage.

Another former backstage interviewer in Cathy Kelley did return to WWE during the broadcast team shakeup and she is now a part of Raw.
