This week's WWE Raw saw Braun Strowman officially challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at Clash Of Champions, The Monster Among Men fail to take AJ Styles' United States title, and the new tag team tandem of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode win an eight-team Tag Team Turmoil match.

Now, at Clash Of Champions on September 15, RooDolph will take on Strowman and Rollins for the Raw Tag Team titles.

According to a report from Bryan Alvarez over on

Wrestling Observer Radio

, Vince McMahon et al scrapped a pretty big return that presumably would have happened during that aforementioned Tag Team Turmoil match.

The Authors of Pain are said to have been in line to return on Monday's show, a return of course, that didn't end up happening.

Dave Meltzer has speculated that the return was held off as WWE want a tag team to lose to Strowman and Rollins at Clash Of Champions who can eat a loss without their standing being seriously harmed. RooDolph fits that briefing, apparently.

AOP have been missing for much of this year through injuries. However, both Akam and Rezar did appear in the Battle Royal at Super ShowDown in June, while the pair lost to Heavy Machinery at WWE SmackVille in July.
