Report: Rick Boogs Undergoes Surgery Following WWE WrestleMania 38

Rick Boogs suffered an injury at WrestleMania 38

WWE SmackDown star Rick Boogs has reportedly undergone successful surgery to repair a quad tear suffered at WrestleMania 38.

The report - courtesy of PWInsider - states that Boogs underwent the procedure in Birmingham, Alabama earlier in the week, and is slated to return home and start recovery and rehab. Quad tears are serious injuries, especially in the wrestling world, with a full recovery usually taking around six months at the very least.

Boogs suffered the injury shortly into his tag bout with Shinsuke Nakamura against The Usos in night one’s opener, with Boogs going down when attempting to lift both Usos at the same time. Nakamura finished the match solo, losing after a 1-D at around the seven minute mark.

This was Boogs’ first WrestleMania match, after being called up to WWE’s main roster in Summer 2021. A former two-time 24/7 Champion under the Joseph Average/Night Panther gimmick, Boogs has been with WWE since 2017, where he sporadically wrestled on NXT, gaining a cult following in the process.
