Report: Riho Returning To AEW Soon

Inaugural AEW Women's Champion Riho is set for a return to the promotion.

Former AEW Women's World Champion Riho could be returning to the promotion very soon, writing in a blog post that she is set to head back to States.

This comes courtesy of a post by The Midwest Marks Podcast, who also state that Riho has fully recovered from her recent collarbone injury.

Her last match came in January at AEW Battle of the Belts, where she lost to Britt Baker in an AEW Women's World Championship match.

Riho was the inaugural holder of the title, winning it in October 2019 and enjoying a 133-day reign, before losing it to Nyla Rose.

Riho was part of the first ever AEW show, Double or Nothing in May 2019. After her title reign, she was absent from the promotion for a prolonged stint due to travel restrictions imposed by COVID-19, during which she mainly wrestled in Japan-based promotion STARDOM. She returned to AEW in February 2021.

The AEW Women's World Championship is currently held by Thunder Rosa, who captured the title from Baker at St. Patrick's Day Slam on March 16.
