Report: Roman Reigns Vs. Jey Uso Match Announcement Boosts WWE SummerSlam Ticket Sales

A boost for WWE SummerSlam ticket sales

Roman Reigns and The Bloodline continue to be a draw for WWE.

It was made official on the July 21 edition of Friday Night SmackDown that Jey Uso will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Tribal Combat Match at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 5.

The event is set to take place at Detroit's Ford Field and ticket sales for SummerSlam have picked up since the main event was made official, according to Dave Meltzer.

"So ever since [Friday's SmackDown], the tickets have started to really pick up, ever since Friday, which kind of tells you as far as Roman Reigns-Jey Uso, you know, making it official and everything like that. They've topped 45,000, and they're moving pretty good. So they're gonna, we're a couple of weeks away. I think they're gonna get to 50 [000] and maybe... product's super hot. The Roman Reigns-Jey Uso angle is exceedingly strong," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

WrestleTix has noted that 45,420 tickets have been sold for SummerSlam and the stadium is currently set up to hold 47,701 fans.

Other headline matches at WWE SummerSlam include Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar, Logan Paul vs. Ricochet, and GUNTHER vs. Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Championship.
