Report: Rumour Killer On Planned Ending Of WWE Clash At The Castle

Drew McIntyre and Tyson Fury had a big singalong to end WWE Clash At The Castle

WWE received praise for their recent Clash At The Castle pay-per-view, with the main event match between Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre being marked out for commendation.

The show ended in a somewhat odd manner, though, as following McIntyre's loss, WWE had a 'send the fans home happy' moment in which Drew McIntyre and Tyson Fury sang 'American Pie' and 'Don't Look Back In Anger' with the fans in Cardiff. The segment came across like it was just meant to be for the fans in attendance and wasn't supposed to air, with McIntyre even questioning whether or not the show was still live.

That initially appeared to be the case, with Freddie Prinze Jr. reporting that WWE simply forgot to cut the feed for the pay-per-view at the right moment, but a conflicting report has since emerged. According to Fightful Select, sources close to the pay-per-view's production said the post-match interaction between Tyson Fury and Drew McIntyre was always scheduled to air and they denied the feed was supposed to be cut earlier.

Regardless, the moment is now a part of British professional wrestling history and will be either fondly remembered or derided in the coming years.
