Sammy Guevara wasn't originally booked for the September 9 edition of AEW Rampage.

Cutting a promo on the latest episode of his vlog, Guevara revealed he was meant to have the week off before he asked Dave Meltzer where his five-star matches were.

"I'm not here because I got fired from somewhere else, I'm here because I want to be. I'm not asking for my release, I want to be here. I didn't have to go to work here today, alright, I had the week off, but here I am putting on five-star matches that I don't even get the recognition for, huh Meltzer? Where's my stars? You want to give stars to all your favourites but where's my stars?" Guevara said.

Guevara faced Darby Allin on Rampage in the first round of the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions for the vacant AEW World Championship. Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho were also not originally scheduled to appear in AEW last week but plans changed after CM Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega were suspended following a backstage fight after the All Out pay-per-view.

Both Jericho and Moxley are also participants in the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions. Moxley will face Guevara in the semifinals, while Jericho will take on Bryan Danielson.
