Report: RUSH Wanted By WWE

AEW star RUSH is a man in demand, with WWE reportedly keeping tabs

WWE are interested in acquiring the services of current AEW star RUSH, according to a new report.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE would like to sign the 34-year-old, but that AEW are also keen to retain him.

Meltzer added that AEW's offer is far bigger than what anyone in NXT is getting (outside of Gable Steveson, whom it is presumed is on a much more lucrative deal than the average prospect). Meltzer posited that WWE would have to offer RUSH main roster money to be in the ballpark.

It was reported in June that RUSH's AEW contract was due to expire soon. 'El Toro Blanco' put pen to paper on a one-year deal in September 2022. Despite quitting Mexican promotion AAA in early June, RUSH performed at the company's TripleMania event in Tijuana on July 15.

The former ROH World Champion's most recent AEW outing was a six-man tag match loss on the May 26 episode of Rampage (taped May 24). It was subsequently revealed that his recent absence from AEW TV was due to visa issues.
