Report: Scrapped Plans For Stadium Stampede At AEW All In Revealed

AEW had different plans in mind for Stadium Stampede at All In

The build to AEW All In has been a tumultuous period for All Elite Wrestling, with several of the promotion's stars suddenly becoming unavailable for the August 27 pay-per-view.

This has seen AEW make changes to the Stadium Stampede Match. It was originally announced that Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Best Friends, and The Lucha Brothers would team together to take on Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and three mystery partners. Rey Fenix was written out of the match on Wednesday's Dynamite, though, following an attack from the Blackpool Combat Club and the returning Santana & Ortiz.

The match has since been changed to a five vs. five affair of Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Best Friends, and Penta El Zero M vs. Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Santana, and Ortiz.

All Elite Wrestling originally had completely different plans for Stadium Stampede, though. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the match was originally set to be a three-team affair of Blackpool Combat Club vs. Best Friends & Orange Cassidy vs. Death Triangle. Rey Fenix is unable to perform at Wembley Stadium as he is establishing residency in the United States, while PAC has been out of action since his Dynamite match with Gravity in July.

"It was going to be BCC, Best Friends and Orange, and Penta, Fenix and PAC. He [Fenix] had to establish residency so he cannot leave the country. PAC is injured," Meltzer said.

All Elite will emanate from London's Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 27. Over 80,000 fans are set to be in attendance for the major event.
