The curtain has been lifted many times on the inner workings of professional wrestling, the lead-up to shows, and backstage stories involving many wrestlers, bookers, and staff. WWE are taking a step further this summer with the announcement of the ‘WWE: Unreal’ series, heading to Netflix. This show will take a peek inside the WWE writer’s room, issuing an insight of the creative process in WWE in-depth for the first time ever.

This unprecedented step to further uncover the veil of kayfabe is not something universally approved of within the wrestling world. On WrestleVotes Radio, it was noted that several veterans and long-time WWE employees have shared feelings of resentment and opposition to the creation of the show. There is an internal belief that too much will be revealed to fans, and it may serve to ruin the mystique of WWE storylines, feuds, and the creative process.

This comes shortly after Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque told fans to shut up and enjoy the show instead of being critics, though the suspension of disbelief may be even harder after the debut of WWE: Unreal.
