Report: SummerSlam 2020 Will Take Place At The WWE Performance Center

The Biggest Party Of The Summer won't have fans in attendance...

Since the March 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE has broadcast all programming behind closed doors from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

Vince McMahon was reportedly determined to have fans in attendance for SummerSlam 2020, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced WWE to scrap those plans as Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported The Biggest Party Of The Summer will be broadcast from the Performance Center on August 23.

The pay-per-view was originally scheduled to take place at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, but Mayor Marty Walsh announced back in May that all large gatherings in the city had been suspended until September 7.

There was talk that the company was looking to reschedule the event or move it to another location, but rising coronavirus cases in America means it is too early to have live crowds at WWE shows. On Friday, the US recorded a new record number of cases as 57,209 people tested positive for the virus. A further 93,448 people tested positive over the weekend.
