Report: Why Rey Mysterio Hasn't Re-Signed With WWE Revealed
The former World Heavyweight Champion's contract recently expired...

Earlier today, it emerged that Rey Mysterio's WWE contract had expired. The Master Of The 619 signed a two-year deal when he re-signed with the wrestling behemoth back in September 2018, but both sides were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the two sides weren't able to agree on a new deal because the former United States Champion asked for a pay rise, but Vince McMahon was unwilling to meet his demands because of the company's recent cutbacks.
Meltzer said: "What happened was he had asked for a raise, Vince had said you know, 'Look at the situation we're in. We just got rid of a bunch of people.' So, anyway, he has not signed… They don't want him leaving I can tell you that. They've got the Dominick storyline obviously that they've been working on. That's one of the reasons that they're doing all this. So, you know, I guess to say, they're working on a deal."
This is similar to Drew Gulak's contract situation as the former Cruiserweight Champion asked for a raise back in May but WWE refused and withdrew their offer. Gulak later re-signed with the company after his deal expired.
