Report: Tony Khan Told TNT About AEW No Rules Match Ahead Of Time

TNT weren't caught unawares

While AEW's No Rules Match has caused issues with advertisers, it doesn't appear the promotion will have any problems with TNT.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW President Tony Khan informed the TV network about how violent the match would be ahead of time and "they were presumably okay with it."

Nick Gage and Chris Jericho faced off in a No Rules Match on Wednesday's Dynamite and it featured many spots typical of Deathmatches. Both men used light tubes, a pizza cutter and a pane of glass on each other and The Painmaker would eventually win the Second Labour of Jericho with a Judas Effect.

The match has had unintended consequences, though, as Domino's Pizza, a key advertiser on TNT, has announced they are assessing their "advertising presence" on Dynamite going forward. The issue stemmed from a Domino's Pizza advert airing immediately after Nick Gage used a pizza cutter on Jericho.

Domino's Pizza Spokesperson Jenny Fouracre-Petko told Front Office Sports: "We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward."
