Report: Unhappy AEW Talents More Open To Joining WWE Following Penta's Debut
Penta’s WWE debut has reportedly spurred unhappy AEW talents to consider jumping ship
Jan 17, 2025
Penta’s Raw debut has seemingly left a lasting impression, with it believed unhappy AEW talents are more open to joining WWE after seeing the reception their former co-worker received upon his arrival in WWE.
WWE’s momentum heading into 2025 is ultimately stronger than AEW’s and a report from Lucha Libre Online on X/Twitter* suggests that some in AEW frustrated/uncomfortable with their role in the company are now seeing WWE in a different light, with a former feeling of ‘getting lost in the monster system of WWE’ seemingly diminishing.
Two talents allegedly revealed to Lucha Libre Online that they were more open to exploring the possibility of joining WWE in 2025 upon the expiration of their AEW deals, with Penta’s explosive debut, as well as how the fortunes of Lexis King and Ethan Page have improved since joining NXT, being driving factors.
It’s suggested that the administrative and culture changes in WWE have made the sports entertainment behemoth a more attractive proposition to some, whilst having AEW on their resume can be seen as an attractive bargaining chip.
No names have been revealed as to talents looking to jump ship to WWE, although it is heavily anticipated that Malakai Black will return to the company after the expiration of his AEW deal.
