Report: Update On AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 PPV Buys

More late PPV buys, this time for Double or Nothing

Pay-per-view buys for AEW Double or Nothing 2023 are estimated to be higher than initially expected.

It was estimated following the pay-per-view that Double or Nothing would finish between 130,000 and 135,000 pay-per-view buys, with the number of late buys not expected to be on the same level as Revolution earlier this year.

The volume of late buys has defied expectations, however, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that "AEW television PPV numbers have grown tremendously in the second week after the show" and there was a 12.8 percent increase in buys.

The new estimate from Meltzer puts Double or Nothing at around 140,000 buys but the final number could end up being higher.

Headline matches at AEW Double or Nothing included a Four Pillars four-way for the AEW World Championship, Adam Cole vs. Chris Jericho, and Anarchy in the Arena between The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club. The pay-per-view aired from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, May 28.

140,000 buys would still be lower than 2022's Double or Nothing which drew 165,000 buys but above the 2019, 2020, and 2021 editions of the pay-per-view.
