Report: Update On Jeff Hardy's WWE In-Ring Return

The Charismatic Enigma could grace our TV screens soon...

Jeff Hardy has not wrestled inside a WWE ring since a live event on April 20, 2019, when he teamed with his brother Matt to defeat The Usos. Soon after, The Hardy Boyz were forced to relinquish the SmackDown Tag Team Championships as Jeff required knee surgery. He hasn't been back on WWE TV since.

While The Charismatic Enigma's knee is seemingly healed, Hardy's ongoing personal health problems have kept him on the sidelines. He was arrested for a second time in four months back in October 2019 for driving while intoxicated in Moore County, North Carolina.

Since his arrest, however, WWE has been working with Jeff to address his health problems and both parties have been doing their utmost to help the former WWE Champion.

Now, Mike Johnson at PWInsider has reported that Brother Nero is scheduled to be at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida next week to be evaluated ahead of an in-ring return. While his brother Matt's contract expires on March 1, Jeff's will run for a while yet as WWE has added time on because of his injuries.

It remains likely that Hardy will miss WrestleMania 36, however, as his next court appearance is on April 6, the day after The Showcase Of The Immortals.

For the avoidance of doubt, Johnson wrote: "PWInsider.com can confirm that Jeff Hardy is slated to be at the WWE Performance Center next week to have his progress towards a WWE in-ring return checked on. Hardy's deal would not expire on 3/1 alongside his brother due to his contract being extended due to time away from performing due to injuries."
