Report: Update On Mercedes Moné's AEW Status Following All In Appearance

Latest on Mercedes Moné and AEW following her appearance at All In

Could Mercedes Moné be set to become All Elite?

The former Sasha Banks was in attendance for AEW All In on Sunday and Moné was shown multiple times on the big screen and during the pay-per-view broadcast, particularly during the AEW World Trios Title match where she appeared to be a big fan of The Acclaimed.

AEW CEO Tony Khan addressed Moné's status with AEW during the post-All In media scrum, saying the following: "I thought it would be great to have her here to see all the matches including the AEW Women's World Championship [match], but she's not cleared [to wrestle] since her injuries. I just thought it would be good to have her to take in the show. [There's] definitely a lot of potential things [that] could happen there, and I know that New Japan Pro-Wrestling's had great experiences working with her."

There might be more to the story, though. According to Fightful Select, there have been recent conversations between AEW and Mercedes Moné and she is "open" to appearing in the promotion. A source within AEW expressed "heavy optimism" that the two sides will be working together, while another seemed sure something was in the works.

Mercedes Moné has yet to wrestle for AEW since she exited WWE, instead focusing her time on New Japan Pro-Wrestling and World Wonder Ring Stardom in 2023. Moné has been out of action since she sustained an injury at May's NJPW STRONG Resurgence show. She was scheduled to win the NJPW STRONG Women's Championship at the event but she called an audible for Willow Nightingale to win their match after Moné realised she was hurt.
