Report: Update On Rey Mysterio's WWE Contract Negotiations

His contract expired earlier this month...

Back on July 5, it emerged that Rey Mysterio's WWE deal had expired and he was wrestling in the company without a contract. Both sides had reportedly failed to agree to a new deal because The Master Of The 619 asked for a pay rise, but Vince McMahon was unwilling to meet his demands because of the April 15 cutbacks.

Mysterio has continued to be featured prominently on Monday Night Raw since his contract expired and he has been feuding with Seth Rollins since May 11. The two rivals went one on one on Sunday in an Eye For An Eye match, during which Mysterio's eye popped out.

WWE and Rey have continued to negotiate over a new deal throughout this period and Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported Mysterio travelled to Stamford, Connecticut last week to continue discussions over a new contract. While the two sides failed to agree on a new deal, the former World Heavyweight Champion will reportedly continue to appear on WWE TV going forward.
