Report: Update On Roman Reigns' Presentation As Undisputed WWE Universal Champion

Roman Reigns might have three belts on WWE TV

Roman Reigns has been Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for over a year since he defeated Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE and Universal titles in the main event of WrestleMania 38.

Reigns has carried the WWE and Universal championship belts to the ring for much of his reign but the straps were merged into a singular Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt earlier this month as part of Reigns' celebration for reaching 1,000 days as Universal Champion.

When Reigns was given the new shiny gold belt, Paul Heyman held onto the WWE and Universal championships and the Tribal Chief's advocate might continue to do so. Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated has reported that WWE are considering having Heyman keep the Universal and WWE title belts as part of Reigns' presentation.

Part of the idea behind keeping the now defunct belts on TV is that the WWE Championship belt represents the lineage of the WWE Title that has been around since the 1960s, while the Universal Championship has its own more recent history when it became the top title in WWE with Reigns as champion, and WWE are hoping to transfer that history onto the new gold championship.
