Report: Update On Rumoured Scrapped Meeting Between CM Punk & The Elite Ahead Of AEW All In

More on CM Punk possibly meeting The Elite ahead of AEW All In

The issues between CM Punk and The Elite have been well-documented over the past year, with Punk stating that he was looking to have a sit-down with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks to discuss what happened during their backstage fight following All Out 2022, but he had been blocked by lawyers.

A report from Haus of Wrestling following CM Punk's firing on Saturday, September 2 claimed that a face-to-face meeting between CM Punk and The Elite was scheduled to take place ahead of AEW All In but it was called off at the last minute by The Elite's camp. The meeting was intended to bury the hatchet and Tony Khan was scheduled to be in attendance for the summit in Atlanta.

A conflicting report from Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has since emerged, though, with it being claimed a meeting was never planned. The Elite were approached about meeting with Punk but they turned it down.

"The story came out today that like a week ago a meeting was planned with CM Punk and The Elite, they were all gonna sit down. There was no meeting planned and when The Elite was approached about the meeting, they said no. That's the story," Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio

Fightful Select, meanwhile, has reported the meeting "will long be the subject of a story of two sides." People close to CM Punk have stated the meeting was scheduled to happen, while those close to The Elite have said it was never going to happen. Both sides agree at the very least that a meeting was pitched.

Fightful also noted there was a brief interaction between The Young Bucks and CM Punk in London. Punk's camp later expressed that he was frustrated about The Elite still being unwilling to talk to him.

CM Punk is now gone from AEW following his firing on Saturday, September 2. His contract was terminated after an investigation into the backstage altercation he had with Jack Perry at AEW All In.
