Report: Update On WWE King & Queen Of The Ring Tournaments

Latest on King & Queen of the Ring tournaments

Following the scrapping of the King & Queen of the Ring pay-per-view last week, the status of the respective King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments at Night of Champions on May 27 has not been officially addressed by WWE.

It isn't looking good for fans of King of the Ring, however. According to PWInsider Elite, WWE have yet to decide on if King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring will still take place at Night of Champions but one source thought it was "less likely", with the tournaments possibly being slotted in for after the upcoming WWE Draft. Nothing is set in stone yet, though.

WWE decided to replace King & Queen of the Ring with Night of Champions, with the pay-per-view still set to take place on Saturday, May 27 in Saudi Arabia. The change was simply a creative decision, PWInsider Elite reported, as the belief is Night of Champions will mean something in Saudi Arabia.

WWE last held the King of the Ring tournament in 2021, with Xavier Woods emerging with the crown after defeating Finn Balor in the final at Crown Jewel. Zelina Vega, meanwhile, won the Queen's Crown Tournament at the same show.
