Report: Update On When Drew McIntyre Will Return To WWE TV

Drew McIntyre seemingly won't be back in action this week

An update on Drew McIntyre has emerged.

The two-time WWE Champion has been off TV since WrestleMania 39, with it being revealed that McIntyre has been banged up since before the Show of Shows but he continued to wrestle to ensure he got through WrestleMania. He was then pulled from the SmackDown after WrestleMania and he hasn't appeared since.

McIntyre seemingly won't be back on WWE TV before the end of April, with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reporting that McIntyre won't be in action for a few more weeks.

Irn Dru's long-term WWE future is also up in the air, with his contract set to expire at the end of 2022 in around nine months' time. As of last word, the two sides were said to be far apart and money and McIntyre was unhappy about the company's plans for him. The 37-year-old blacked out his Twitter account over the weekend.

McIntyre has performed outside of WWE before, having an extended run on the indies for the likes of EVOLVE, ICW, and WCPW, along with TNA Wrestling between 2014 and 2017. He returned to WWE in 2017 and has established himself as one of the company's top stars.
