Report: Update On WWE's World Title Plans For WrestleMania 39

What will WWE do with Roman Reigns?

While reports have noted that WWE are currently planning to keep the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on Roman Reigns through WrestleMania, the company's plans may not be as final as initially believed.

In an update, WrestleVotes have reported that WWE do not want Roman Reigns to lose at all before the 2023 edition of the Showcase of the Immortals. However, the company does want to have two world champions for WrestleMania which can, of course, only become a reality if Reigns loses before 'Mania unless WWE strips him of one of the world titles.

WrestleVotes tweeted: "The situation w/ the world titles & Roman Reigns is 'complex' according to a source. They would like to go into 'Mania season' & WrestleMania itself with 2 champions, but they also don't want Reigns losing AT ALL prior. I'm told HHH & co are open to all things creatively here."

It has been noted that WWE are hoping The Rock will return for WrestleMania 39 to face Reigns in the headline match. Reigns has been WWE's undisputed top star since he returned from hiatus in the summer of 2020 and he has been Undisputed WWE Universal Champion since the belts were unified at WrestleMania 38.
