Report: Vince McMahon At Gorilla Throughout WWE Raw

There is reportedly more to Vince McMahon's appearance backstage at Monday Night Raw than just visiting John Cena. 

McMahon was backstage at the March 6 edition of Monday Night Raw in Boston, Massachusetts which marked the first time he had been in the back for a WWE TV taping since his return to the company in January. Reports noted that McMahon - now sporting dyed hair and a moustache - was backstage to visit John Cena. 

In an update, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that McMahon was at the Gorilla position "all night" and there was more to him being backstage than just seeing an old friend. 

"He was in Gorilla all night. He wasn't barking orders at people or anything like that but he was in Gorilla all night. I was told that they tell you that he's only there to visit John Cena - that's the story - but there's more to it than that... He's doing more than they're letting on. The person who was in control tonight was Levesque [Triple H] so it's not like he [Vince] was in charge and doing stuff but it's not like he was just visiting John Cena and saying hi to a few people and left. That didn't happen either. So the truth is a little bit in the middle, most likely. For sure it is, actually," Meltzer said.

McMahon forced his way back into WWE in January 2023, only months after he was forced to retire in disgrace amid a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. McMahon has since been elected as Executive Chairman as he pursues a sale of WWE. 

McMahon is reportedly not officially back in WWE creative but Chief Content Officer Triple H has noted that he takes suggestions from his father-in-law.
