Report: Wade Barrett Returning To WWE This Week

On the Raw after WrestleMania 32, King Barrett (Stu Bennett) teamed with Sheamus against The New Day in a WWE Tag Team Championship match. The League Of Nations were unsuccessful in the bout and the group immediately turned on Barrett to write him off WWE TV. 

Bennett hasn't been back in the company since April 2016 but he will be returning to WWE TV this week, according to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet. Satin reported the former Intercontinental Champion will be joining the NXT commentary team on tonight's episode. 

Bennett won't be around for long, however, as his appearance is just a one-time deal and the former WWE Superstar hasn't signed a full-time contract with the wrestling behemoth. 

Since leaving WWE, Bennett has done colour commentary for a number of promotions, including WCPW and World Of Sport Wrestling. He is currently the colour commentator on NWA Powerrr alongside Joe Galli. 

WWE tried to bring the former Nexus leader back for an appearance over WrestleMania 36 weekend, but Bennett turned it down because it wasn't something he was interested in.
