Report: Warner Bros. Discovery Interested In Adding AEW PPVs To Max

Warner Bros. Discovery keen on adding AEW PPVs to Max streaming service

The negotiations between All Elite Wrestling and broadcast partner Warner Bros. Discovery are ongoing, with the two sides having been in negotiations about a potential new deal since late 2023.

WBD were reportedly one of the driving factors behind AEW increasing their pay-per-view event output, and a new report from Fightful Select suggests that WBD would also be interested in hosting AEW’s PPVs on their Max streaming service.

The idea of putting AEW PPVs on Max is one that WBD have been keen on ‘for quite some time’, with the two sides having discussed what a deal would look like as part of contract renegotiations since last year. The report states that almost every deal WBD does now has Max firmly in mind, with the streaming service more central to WBD’s operations than it was when WBD and AEW last agreed on a deal.

Whilst WBD are expected to start rolling Max out across Europe in Summer 2024, there is not believed to be any plans for a UK launch due to WBD-owned HBO’s exclusivity deal with Sky, with that deal set to continue through 2026. UK fans can currently watch AEW PPVs live on TrillerTV (formerly Fite TV).
