Report: Why AEW Are Allowing CM Punk To Block Talents From Collision

CM Punk is very important to the promotion, AEW believe

CM Punk appears to have a tremendous amount of power within All Elite Wrestling, with AEW management allowing the 44-year-old to block talents, including AEW Manager of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels and Ryan Nemeth, from Collision tapings. Many in the AEW locker room also reportedly believe that Punk was involved in blocking Hangman Page, Matt Hardy, and Isiah Kassidy from AEW Collision.

Daniels has reportedly been blocked from Collision due to his involvement in the backstage fight at All Out 2022 and since Ace Steel is not allowed to be on the road with AEW, Punk doesn't want The Fallen Angel at Collision. Punk, meanwhile, has issues with Ryan Nemeth stemming from a tweet Nemeth posted immediately following Punk's return promo on June 17.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW are allowing Punk to block talents from Collision as they feel that he is "indispensable or close to indispensable" to the success of Collision.

"They are doing everything they can to keep him happy because when you are a draw in this business and they feel that he is indispensable or close to indispensable because they allow him to do this and they are trying to launch this show on Saturday and the feeling is, obviously, that having him is more important than having a situation where the head of talent relations can go to a show. They feel that it is more important to keep CM Punk happy because of the attempt to launch on Saturday. That's not unusual in this business," Meltzer stated.

Punk has been the star of AEW Collision since the show launched on June 17 and the two-time AEW World Champion has found himself in featured matches against the likes of Ricky Starks and Samoa Joe.
