Report: Why Kevin Owens Was Dropped From Major WWE Raw Angle Revealed
He's been feuding with Randy Orton in recent weeks...

Back on the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens returned to the red brand after a brief hiatus and hosted a special edition of The Kevin Owens Show. The segment restarted The Prizefighter's feud with Seth Rollins as he inserted himself in The Monday Night Messiah's rivalry with Rey Mysterio.
Owens went on to defeat Rollins on July 13 and vanquish Murphy at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, but the storyline was suddenly dropped following the pay-per-view. The former Universal Champion then didn't resurface until last week when he challenged Randy Orton to a match, having seemingly forgotten about his issues with Seth and Murphy.
Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Owens' angle with Rollins was dropped because Rey Mysterio agreed to stay with WWE. The original plan would have seen K.O. take The Master Of The 619's place in the rivalry, but Rey's honour will be defended by his son Dominik instead.
Meltzer said: "Kevin Owens was there. He was supposed to be in a program with Seth until they just dropped it when Rey agreed to stay."
