The programme between Logan Paul and Jey Uso over the World Heavyweight Championship continued on Monday night, but their latest angle didn't actually air on Monday Night Raw.
The main event of Raw saw Jey Uso defend the World Heavyweight Title against Seth Rollins, with the match ending in a DQ win for Rollins after interference from CM Punk. Jey Uso ended Raw standing tall alongside Punk and Sami Zayn, and Uso celebrated with the crowd after the show went off the air. As Uso made his way around the ringside area, he was suddenly laid out by a hooded figure in the crowd, who revealed themselves to be Logan Paul.
Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE decided to air the angle after Raw to "surprise people."
"I was really surprised that they shot the angle after the show went off the air. It was by design with the idea of 'Oh, we're gonna push it on social media.' That was the mentality, to surprise people after the show went off the air," Meltzer said.
WWE have saved angles for social media in the past to build buzz, notably Kevin Owens' heel turn on Cody Rhodes following Bad Blood 2024.
When Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul will take place is unknown. The match initially appeared to be set up for Backlash, but five matches have already been announced for the pay-per-view/premium live event on Saturday, May 10.
