Report: Women's Title Match Official For WWE SummerSlam

Asuka will defend her WWE Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair

The feud between WWE Women’s Champion Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair has been ongoing in some way, shape, or form since before WrestleMania. Asuka and Belair have been at each other’s throats ever since WrestleMania season, with the Empress of Tomorrow ending Belair’s record-breaking run as the Raw Women’s Champion.

During the presentation of her new WWE Women’s Championship belt, Charlotte Flair returned to SmackDown and set her sights on Asuka’s shiny new prize. This has led to bad blood building between all three women, with both Flair and Belair gunning for the title. It was announced on WWE’s social media yesterday that the score would finally be settled in a triple threat match at the SummerSlam 2023 premium live event.

This will mark the first time that Asuka’s brand-new WWE Women’s Championship will be defended on a PLE, after previously missing out on a spot at Money in the Bank in London, England, with this feud instead being furthered on episodes of SmackDown before the trigger was pulled on a three-way.
