Report: WWE Backstage Reaction To Speculation Of Triple H In-Ring Return
Triple H confronted Kevin Owens following the latter's attack on Cody Rhodes.
Dec 17, 2024
An off-camera confrontation between Triple H and Kevin Owens occurred in the aftermath of last weekend's Saturday Night's Main Event, ostensibly to further the storyline of an unhinged Owens crossing the line in his feud with Cody Rhodes.
The heated exchange was captured by those in attendance and shared widely on social media, but also led to a possibly unintentional outcome: fan speculation of a possible in-ring return for The Game.
Dr Chris Featherstone has an update on the situation, explaining on Twitter/X:
"Those within WWE are shocked that the possibility of Triple H competing against Kevin Owens was even considered by so many people.
"It's not necessarily impossible for Triple H to compete in a match, but he retired in 2022 following his heart scare and has no plans of returning at any time. 'Never say never,' but this is as close to never as you can get."
Owens lost to Rhodes in the main event of Saturday Night's Main Event, but attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion after the show and hit him with a package piledriver. Cody was stretchered out of the arena, and WWE reported that he had suffered extensive injuries.
