WWE are considering adding another event to their plans for WrestleMania 41 weekend and they could be working with a comedian connected with Donald Trump to bring it to life.
According to WrestleVotes on WrestleVotes Radio, WWE are discussing holding a Roast of WrestleMania event following night two of WrestleMania 41. The event would feature Tony Hinchcliffe and be held on Sunday, April 20 at the BleauLive Theater, part of the Fontainebleau Las Vegas resort. The venue will host the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
"According to a well-placed source, WWE has discussed the idea of running a post-WrestleMania event in Las Vegas on Sunday night, April 20th. We are told the idea around this event would be the Roast of WrestleMania featuring comedic megastar Tony Hinchcliffe, likely at the Fontainebleau Theater, similar to the Hall of Fame," WrestleVotes said.
Tony Hinchcliffe was one of the speakers at Donald Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden during Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. The comedian - known for the podcast Kill Tony - was condemned by both Democrats and Republicans over racist jokes he made at the rally. Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean", suggested Latinos "loved making babies", drew on racist tropes around black people and watermelons, and called Palestinians rock-throwers.
Hinchcliffe signed a deal with Netflix earlier this week to air three specials on the streaming service. Hinchcliffe was also one of the comedians who appeared on The Roast of Tom Brady in 2024, which aired on Netflix.
WWE airs all of its televised programming on Netflix in much of the world as part of a 10-year deal. In the United States, only Raw airs on Netflix.
WWE, of course, are connected to Donald Trump, who is a member of the company's Hall of Fame. Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon is also the current United States Secretary of Education and she is the mother-in-law of WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, who attended her confirmation hearing.
