Report: WWE Could Extend Drew McIntyre's Contract Through WrestleMania 40

Drew McIntyre could be in action at WrestleMania 40

While Drew McIntyre's long-term future with WWE is uncertain, he looks set to be under contract with the company well into 2024.

Reports have noted that McIntyre's current contract with WWE expires in early 2024 but WWE have the option to add injury time to his deal. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has since reported that injury time amounts to a few months and this could allow WWE to extend McIntyre's deal through WrestleMania 40, which is set to take place on April 6 and April 7, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

McIntyre made his WWE return at Money in the Bank, making his first appearance on TV since WrestleMania 39. Irn Dru entered a programme with GUNTHER at the July 1 show and they are reportedly scheduled to have a match for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam on August 5.

Despite his return, reports have noted that McIntyre has not put pen to paper on a new deal and there have been no renewed talks over a contract extension. Meltzer also confirmed that McIntyre has not re-signed with WWE.
